# Labor check — two kinds of older careers read from the official reports

### Labor check: older careers read from the official reports

The **[labor check](/guides/data-models/labor-check)** is filled from the Social Security's official reports whenever they can be read, and from the Social Security's web pages otherwise — which give a shorter history. Two kinds of record, both typical of careers that started in the 1980s, kept the reports from being read:

* **A registration that only took effect after the relation ended.** It now reads as a relation that counts no days: its `social_security_days` is not reported. How to read the days: [Work relations](/guides/data-models/labor-check#work-relations).
* **An unemployment benefit from the 1980s in the contribution history.** It now reads as a benefit (`is_benefit_block`), and its bases are left out of the income floor, like any other benefit.
